North Carolina

Choose Your Adventure

We have it all, from the mountains to the sea, right here in North Carolina.

Majestic Mountains

The Blue Ridge Mountains are the rooftop of North Carolina, a scenic spine of peaks lining the state’s western side. Here you’ll find countless trails to hike, rivers to float down and spectacular views to photograph. George Washington Vanderbilt immediately fell in love with the area and built his dream estate, the majestic and incomparable Biltmore. NC’s northern mountains are a winter sports haven, the southern section is known for its waterfalls and gem mining, and in the middle of it all is Asheville, with so many wonderful microbreweries and field-to-table restaurants that its nickname is ‘Foodtopia’.

Pristine Beaches

On the other side of the state, North Carolina has mile upon mile of coastline. Wild horses, giant sand dunes, and lighthouses grace the fragile strand of barrier islands known as the Outer Banks, while boardwalks and beach music are always popular in coastal towns with names like Topsail and Ocean Isle. The Gulf Stream brings a bounty of fishing opportunities all along NC’s shoreline, while the south-facing Brunswick Islands have been labeled North Carolina’s “Golf Coast” for their wealth of challenging courses.

Colorful Cities

In the middle of the state lies our vast Piedmont area, with rolling hills and some of America’s fastest-growing cities. Experience the fast-paced nightlife of Uptown Charlotte, or explore the burgeoning underground music scene of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. In the area known as the “Triad”, you can time travel between the colonial settlement of Old Salem, a real-life Mayberry in Mount Airy, and one of America’s most modern and environmentally-friendly hotels in Greensboro.

Tuscany, Napa, North Carolina

Sprinkled across the state are more than 90 vineyards and wineries, waiting to serve you the tantalizing fruits of their labor along with a giant dollop of Southern Hospitality. And it doesn’t matter whether you prefer classic varietals like Chardonnay and Merlot, the sweet and healthy tastes of our native muscadines, or a fruit-based temptation to go with that decadent slice of cheesecake. North Carolina’s wineries will have the flavors and the settings to please anyone’s taste buds.

So choose the experiences you want, and then come live all of them…in North Carolina!
